Ways On How To Make Your Own Bow And Arrow

To make an archery equipment like the bow and arrow is one of the interests of many archery enthusiasts. Before someone could make a perfect archery equipment such as the bow and arrow, one need to have a careful planning. To make a plan is the primary thing to consider if we want to become successful. The materials needed in making a bow and arrow include the cloth tape, string, arrow heads, glue gun, fins, small hand saw, string, shaft, a piece of wood and a sandpaper.  The best that we can also do is to check on the bow and arrow that they sell outside. Follow these simple tips in making a bow and arrow.

1. Those woods that are flexible is our best choice in making the bow. Some of the wood that are commonly used in making the bow include mulberry, bamboo, oak, lemon tree, black locusts, hickory, and teak. It is much easier to cut and clean a wood that is still young compared to the hardened wood. Go to a local archery shop and try to see how the bow were made. One can also check the weight or evern the texture of the bow.

2. The information collected from the local store can be applied on your own bow. A wood that has a perfect bend is what we are looking for. Since almost any type of wood bends on their own way when forced, we need to choose the one that has a perfect bend. Use the small hand saw to cut the wood.

3. In order to make the bow a strong one, make sure that the center or the grip is thick enough. Start carving the ends of the bow that way the center is much thicker than both ends. The center should be thick, and the end segments should be more flexible. Use the sandpaper to refine the carved ends of the bow.

4. After finishing the bow, we can start preparing the notches. Do not put an exact length of notch on the bow, be sure to put an allowance so that we can attach it to the bow. It will be used on both ends of the bow. The bow string is made from different materials such as nylon, sinew or fishing line, and hemp cord.

5. To make the arrow is much easier compared to making the bow, all we have to do is to attach the arrow tip, the fins and other accessories on the prepared wod that we made. Make sure that they do not get loose easily. Arrow shafts are made from different materials, there are those cedar arrow shaft that are extremely sturdy.

To make a bow can be extremely easy, we just have to prepare a plan to get all the things done properly. We can also make a sketch on the design that we want before we start to do the job.
